We are a society that takes an interest in all thing whisky related and are well known in the university for being one of the most welcoming, active and exciting society around.
We meet up once a fortnight to drink the sweet ‘Uisge Beatha’, (the ‘Water of Life’) in the hugely atmospheric 16th century Merchiston Tower Boardroom and With the help of five bottles of the good drink at every meeting, we educate, enthral and entertain Napier’s “whisky students” as we attempt as a group to define their flavours, complexities and hidden subtleties in what normally degenerates to some frankly bizarre analogies, the usual ramblings and drunken rants, and a lot of fun had by all. Some of the tastings start-off themed, some of them less so.
We also journey to the wonderful rural areas of Scotland, visiting some of
the many distilleries, and learning about the whisky making process. We
welcome everyone from experienced tasters to Whisky new-comers, and offer
both good times and great drinks.
Sláinte!
Hope to see you there,
